READ: IPR/DAILY IOWAN/ LITTLE VILLAGE 04/08/23 SHOW REVIEW

The band’s recent performance at Mission Creek Festival garnered some love from a few Iowa news sources. Iowa Public Radio, The Daily Iowan and Little Village all had something to say about the band’s ferocious set.

IOWA PUBLIC RADIO:
“In typical Greg Wheeler & the Poly Mall Cops fashion, the Des Moines punk three-piece – comprised of Greg Wheeler, Jill McLain-Meister and Eric Hutchison – tore up the Gabe’s stage with a fast, shredtastic set highlighting their brand new record MANIC FEVER. The crowd — the most physically engaged of any show at the Creek — thrashed in tandem with bassist Jill’s blonde ponytail to tracks like “AVOID THE CREEPS,” “NOTHING” and “ITCH.” A Poly Mall Cops show is defined by ultra-high energy and wicked fast drumming synced-up with wailing metal strings and a distaste for any between-song breather longer than ten seconds.” – Lucius Pham

DAILY IOWAN:
“Greg Wheeler & The Poly Mall Cops also garnered a fairly large crowd at Gabe’s on April 8. Contrasting heavily with other performances, Greg Wheeler & The Poly Mall Cops presented garage punk that was loud and undeniably fun. The audience near the front of the stage was nearly as fervent as the performers, dancing and moshing to the high-energy songs.” – Jami Martin-Trainor

LITTLE VILLAGE:
“Also hailing from the state capital is Greg Wheeler & The Poly Mall Cops, a loud-hard-fast garage rock trio that can blister concrete — not for the faint of heart, which I mean as a compliment.” – Kembrew McLeod
